Awesome, I will give GPA11 a go tomorrow.

This Rom is running great for me.

Here's benchmark I get with 1.2 chevy kernel lv

To make a personal observation here: I see some of the posts made (for the most part) by newer people, in response to a change made by the developer, and the absolute rudeness being exhibited blows my mind. If I had spoken in those terms to an adult or older person, when I was a kid growing up, my father would have LOST it. I mean, "back of his hand, across my mouth" losing it. We (my siblings and I) were simply *not* brought up that way. Courtesy and respect - simple manners, if you will - were something that my parents expected and *demanded* of us. I realize that this is a public forum, not my parents dinner table, but I think there is a common concept about being rude to strangers - probably older adults at that - which really should guide the actions of people who are forum members.

    Hopping down off my soap-box...

I saw the news about this on droid-life and checked it out, but wasn't really sure where to write about my experiences so I thought I'd try here.

I found menus to be snappier and overall speed increases present, but I also found a lag when waking the phone from sleep (but only when the phone was NOT being charged). Additionally, though I think it was on purpose, QuickOffice was not included.

I think with some further refinements it would make a pretty good rom.

The lag is well-documented and easily fixed by flashing a faster kernel and using SetCPU/flashing the AutoOverclock.zip.

QuickOffice was not included because Pete didn't include ANY market apps, save for the ones that were needed for full phone functionality (Car Home, because the new version isn't in the Market yet, and QuickSearchBox, because the search key doesn't work without it).

I think with some further reading, you could've completely avoided this post.

You can grab QuickOffice from your Froyo ROM image; it's not available in the market. It's called SholesQuickOffice. Just move the SholesQuickOffice.apk to your SD card and install it from there normally (not as an install, just as an application).

Billy, thanks for that idea. I will try it out when I get home from work.

Webeougher, I was running a chevyno1 kernel at 1ghz using setcpu.

If you were running a Chevy kernel at 1 ghz and still had the lag, it was one of his pre 2/5/2011 kernels that weren't GB-friendly. If you're going to use a Chevy kernel with any GB rom, make sure it's one of the updated ones.
