Is there any consensus as to which of the many kernels available is least "adventurous" (as opposed to most bleeding edge) for this release? I *really* want to try this out on my D1 and would prefer the least excitement possible (what can I say I'm OLD).

Also, I've moved all the apps that could be moved to the SD card. I know wiping the phone won't "affect" them but what does that mean when I re-install them. I've read that it isn't recommended to restore the apps from backup on the GPA line, but if I simply re-install do things "just work" or do I need to smoke the stuff on the card too?

Is it possible to have the TV animation play when I turn the screen on as well as when I turn the screen off? I know other custom ROMs have an option to turn it on, but I can't seem to find it on GPA16.

So, I've seen problems mentioned with no power settings in notification bar...but I have no notification bar at all! Is there a setting that will turn this on?

This is a stock rom, no special features. Just pure Gingerbread goodness.

If you have no notificatio bar ur doing it wrong...

    Hello,

The Navigation app has an issue. When I go into contacts from the app to pick a destination, a message saying something like "You do not have any contacts with addresses" and yes, I do. So then my workaround is going to the contacts app to pick an address from there.

Is this a GPA16 bug? Is this a Gingerbread issue? Does GPA17 beta have it? Is this happening to anyone else?

    Thanks.

Definitely NOT an issue with GPA16. Just noticed that myself yesterday and I'm running stock rooted FRG83G. I believe the bug was introduced with the last Google Maps update.

Where do you go into "contacts" from within the app?

You should be able to see it when you start the navigation app. It's the first screen where the first two options are speak destination and type destination.

So my SMS notification lights to NOT work. I use SMS PopUp and have its settings turned on and the stock settings off like I should. Ive tried a couple different kernels from ChevyNo1. I dont know if there is a fix for this or if its even a known issue. I tried searching, but Im exhausted right now, so forgive me if I missed it and please steer me in the right direction! Thanks!

Are there any settings for the screen to turn on when you receive a text? You need to disable that option. When the screen turns on in Gingerbread builds, the LED notification light is dismissed by default.

Well this did fix it, thank you. But this is frustrating as well. I am sure this is a battery saving feature that was added in, but I would really love a work around in possible future builds. Idk why a good thing had to go and be messed with...
