o ok thanks for the quick response
I've finally found the answer to this. It's a 'feature' in 2.2. And its annoyed enough people that theres a new phone.apk that has this fix, and a bunch of other features (like vibrate on answer, on dial, mute ringer on flipping the phone over, and some others)
Proximity Sensor not working fully in call - CyanogenMod Forum
Post #14 in this thread. I have this apk in my system\app on my D1 with BB .05, and im very happy now
Exactly why I only use your ROMs.
@ZeroBarrier - I know I am old but I can read and follow simple instructions, which I did twice and got the same results. If nothing else I am consistent.
I do want to thank you very much for you ever so helpful response. You should apply for a job in a help center. As for not attacking me those stones were awfully close.
As for root access is that not what I do when I use a shovel to move plants around the yard? I was rooting hardware and software while you were but a twinkle in your parents eyes. But of course in those days computer only had 8K ram and 10MB Hard Drives (that took two people to move and if you were lucky the drive did not crash)and 8" Smart drives (that were not). Networking was done via sneakers. Oh by the way I did implement the 1st working Star Network in the country, we had 4 POS (that would be Point of Sales) connected to shared drive, Yes I have a little experience in this field.
You are correct, sometimes what the eye perceives is not the true reality, I will be attempting this ROM upgrade again and I will follow Pete's suggestion and clear my SD card of all unnecessary program files and backups and see how it goes from there.
So when you will be admitting you have a problem, you should perhaps look for some anger management treatment, since I have never corresponded with you or know you in any way and based on your nasty first post to me, I'd rather not know you at all, even in this forum.
Great works perfectly!
Pete, thank you for the response and sorry for the Drama of the day, I will be attempting to re-install .5 later tonight and will follow your suggestions, I do in fact have a lot of "stuff" on my SD card and something may have caused a conflict.
I will say Extended control widget would not load on the Home screen in both attempts and multiple apps FC and some would not start, even after the mass reinstall from the market. You can see the list in my 1st post.
BTW not other app for permissions in the same way as GMail.
I can't download Bing and Fring......NEED HELP AGAIN!!!
That is how the guy rolls. He has a complex.
OK I am updating to this version (I hope). Did full backup, wiped factory and data 3 times. installed update.zip like normal (FRG22DV05.zip really). It boots to press the droid screen. I wait. about 3 min or so later it again reboots to the press droid screen. I'm not sure if it was supposed to reboot again or not so I wait. Quite soon it goes black and acts like it shut down. Can I restart now or should I still be waiting??? I don't want to screw up!
ima get this when there are some themes for it
I don't know if anyone responded.
But battery pull
slide out the keyboard
Hold the X key while holding down the power button
When the M appears (Motorola Logo) on the screen you can let go of the power button
When you get into recovery
Go to Nandroid restore
Restore your last backup (hopefully just before you loaded this ROM)
make sure you phone is working
then you can start the process again use "GirLuvsDroid" procedure and you should be fine.
Hope this helps.
As you described it, you already had the 2nd boot up (one reboot after your installation and initial boot). You're good to go and start setting up!
