It's been a while since I was on this build so keep that in mind.
I think you'll need to put a script in "init.d" folder, or "init.local.rc" which is in either the data folder or the etc folder. You can also put a script in etc folder and name it "install-recovery.sh".
But remember these are all things I do or attempted on only the PE GB versions, so I don't know if froyo requires this to be handled in a different manner.

Hopefully one of those works. If not shoot me a pm as I may have a few other possible fix attempts

Luck and success to you in your endeavor

After using 6.5 until this week, I switched to 4.2 and have noticed an improvement.

    1) Better overall performance, runs cooler, and equal batt life.
    2) Themes look better(the ones I use)
    3) Solid LEDs
    4) Auto brightness Minimum

Bottom line, Project Elite kicks assdancedroid

The first page of this thread has a few listed, including Galaxy S which is what I use.

I believe there is another thread started by someone diff called like "Links to 4.2 themes" or something like that.

back to this after months of playing around with all the gingerbread builds. everything just works and works well at that. got tired of all the camera and uploading and memory issues. pe4.2 and sapphire2.0.2 are far and away the best roms ive had the pleasure of using on my droid.

Agreed. Just tried 4.2 for the first time. Better than 6.5 or any GB ROM hands down.

Just trying this after being on GB ROMs for the past year or so. Haven't had much time to play with my phone, but hoping for good results :)

Yea, I'm going to try this as well. I hear it was a really sweet rom. I have grown tired of the issues with Gingerbread and decided to try this as well. Hope I like it :)

I'm coming back to this! been keeping up with the updates from PE, but this was my favorite ROM for the OG Droid. I don't use it a ton nowadays since upgrading to the tbolt, but keeping Froyo on it is definitely the way to go :)

I, too, have been really happy with this ROM. I have strayed a few times but I keep coming back to PE4.2
