I have over 80 installed lol
i had about 50-60 apps on a few times while testing, it slowed down just a little bit but still ran about as well or a little better than gingerbread
btw if you're worried about ram, ics has you covered in the stock developer options settings...for example "dont keep activities- destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it" or "background process lime- standard limit, no background processes, at most 1 process, at most 2 processes, at most 3 processes, or at most 4 processes"
btw with out any extra apps this runs with about 75-85 mb free of ram
petes latest mostly stock gingerbread 2.3.7 runs with about 90-95 mb free, however dont forget the ics build doesnt even have hardware acceleration working yet
new build up too now, i havent tried it yet though so beware of any new issues
so far so good, the newest more complete gapps work as well dancedroid
Yo metalspring, how in the world does it say you have 228 MB of RAM? 148+80 right, everytime I started from an sbf scratch, the highest mine ever reports is like 176 or like 180 MB of total RAM ...like 78+78 is the most I've ever gotten outta my og.
I was telling my coworker that too bad these og's aren't upgradeable with more RAM, that way I'd never have to get rid of this technological marvel and engineering masterpiece that some have referred to as the og

The running applications view isn't always the most accurate on total ram, try typing in "free" in terminal emulator, I think that command isn't too accurate to use to see free ram though

Does in call audio work now?

not yet, kfazz is working on it and writing up his own libaudio file
How cool would it be if ICS skunked GB with bluetooth voice dialing? Very cool, it would be.
idk ics is already super smooth for an alpha and has tons of cool features and improvements (web browser = amazing) so when hardware acceleration gets working it might work better than gingerbread already. So you can basically call the ics port the gingerbread killer lol
I would/will try it if/when it were/is ready for action on a daily basis.
other than in call audio and camera its good, i use it on the weekends when i dont really get any cell calls lol
Finally flashed this. It's slot smoother than I thought. It also resembles ICS a lot more than I thought too. Actually, I haven't found anything that isn't like ICS, yet. Only problem I had was the calendar app fc'd twice, but didn't cause any problems. The phone is retired, so the phone part is no big deal. The only thing missing is the market. Is that not a part of the gapps, or did I miss that part?

theres been a few issues with the newest gapps, i think its because its cutting it so close with running out of space in /system...I uploaded one i edited by taking out a couple nonessential apps so try this one and see

btw i might try uploading a full nandroid of my setup sometime too (minus personal stuff and my apps obviously lol)
That got the market back. Thanks metalspring. Aside from you saying the phone not working, I think this is good enough to use every day. Runs just as good as the last cm nightly does on my D1.
