I have the paid version of ROM Manager. I understand the recommended way to install a new ROM is to wipe 3 times before installing. If I install a ROM using ROM Manager and by choosing Download ROM from the menu, it does not give you the choice of doing this 3 times. This seems to take away the one step process of installing ROMS. Is there a way to do the 3x wipe using this method of installing ROMS?

I love how these myths spread.

You don't need to do anything three times. What you DO need to do is either use the synch command from an ADB shell... or WAIT for the flash to have actually written the changes.

Here's the ideal way... and no this is not required
    1. Wipe DATA
    2. Wipe CACHE [generally this is a very good idea]
    3. Wipe SYSTEM [it will be wiped by the ROM install... but doesn't hurt]
    4. Install ROM
    5. If you have an ADB shell, # sync ... otherwise just wait for 30secs or so
    6. Reboot

The whole 3-times thing is great, like warding off evil spirits by throwing salt over your shoulder.

Exactly, must be the same people who don't step on the cracks in a sidewalk.

I don't have the knowledge to argue either way, but I based my question from statements made by the man who created the ROM I am using under the assumption that he would know what he is talking about. Look here and here for examples. Is he wrong? Please elaborate.
