Hold tight everyone. You killed my Dropbox account, so I am uploading to Multiupload... Will be back shortly!

Hello my fine furry friends! I finally got a frankenrom booted and working. Thanks to:

Neubanks89 for getting the ball rolling...
Metickone for how to get Gapps to work...
MtWebster from Koush's IRC. (Metickone posted his base rom that I started with.)
Steinman for his work and nandroid that I grabbed the libs and random stuff from.

    So, here we go.

    - Boots by itself with Gapps included. There still is no set up screen, but you can sign in by hitting any of the Google apps.
    - Camera works.-
    - Videos work.
    - WiFi works.
    - GMail, Market, GTalk, etc have all worked for me so far...
    - USB Tethering works, at least via EasyTether, which is my favorite USB tethering app.
    - You already know the main issues with USB storage and Accelerometer.
    - Phone/Contacts work.
    - It's Gingerbread, and you can use it...what more do you want? :p

    Enjoy!

Glad I got to be one of those who gave it a push! I think I might release a themed version too. Never before seen. :) It's only the framework at the moment, but looking to expand it. It plays up great with the GB's "inverted Froyo" type look. White highlights, nicely colored status bar and menu icons, etc. Hopefully I will get it out soon, but have spent a lot of time with this project too.

any news on what libraries were required by the camera? Did you just drop them into the libs folder?

This is great by the way, thanks for your work

I just grabbed the whole lib folder from his nandroid. I copied the Lib folder with Root Explorer to my SD card, and then did a system dump for the rest. Need to go take a shower...

As far as gTalk, I dunno. I haven't tried that one yet. Sorry. I'm doing a nandroid backup at the moment. I'll check it out soon. Worst case scenario, uninstall yours and try this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/Talk.apk

Sorry, I forgot about the backlights. I never use the stock keyboard, so it's not something I pay attention to. That is one of those issues that a real dev would have to be able to figure out. I just put the glue on. :) Checking tethering now...

I hope so neubanks! Glad you kept up with it too! Like I said, I dunno what I'm doing. I just had a lot of free time. :) Appreciate the props everyone. I'm happy to be a part of the community. I am aware that the download link is down for the minute. You guys killed my Dropbox account. LoL They just sent me an email saying they are closing my Public account due to excessive traffic. Aww, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. LoL Bear with me as I am uploading it to Multiupload...

    Give me 5 minutes...

Oh, and someone asked about USB tethering. I only have EasyTether installed right now and it works fine. :)
GTalk works for me as well...

well, no luck on the USB. It is good to see that the camera was a quick fix though. Also, I noticed that the gps doesn't seem to be working. That's what's causing the browser (google's mobile page makes a gps request to the location provider) and maps to force close.

I just did a repo sync and added in the camera and media libraries to the vendor setup. This new build should have all that cleared up. As far the USB is concerned I'm kind of stuck as to what's going on with it, I'm pretty sure it's not a missing library, I haven't looked into the source where USB Mass Storage is handled but someone more familiar with Android would be a great help. I'm just a applications software engineer that can work with code, thats the only reason I can get the thing to build and boot, as far as making drivers and modules work with the droid specifically, not too familiar with that.
