The hosts file wasn't converted from DOS to Unix for 0.6.2, which is why it's not working. You are correct that MIUI does not have an ad blocking script, but there is a workaround with ADB or Root Explorer. If you search for "MIUI ad blocking", you should find it, but it's basically as simple as copying over the hosts file in your etc directory with a modified one that includes common ad-generating sites. It literally takes two minutes to do. There's another workaround using Terminal Emulator in this forum, also, but I can't remember the ADB commands to save my life.

I think that is funny that DOS is still "the core" in todays world..... Spooky.

"Ad blocking" is an IP blocking structure based on a hosts file? That also means it is blocked if you go there from browser...correct? I thought it might be more involved programming.
If the hosts file structure is involved... why was it workable in BB 6.1 and not 6.2?

look for it on the 1st, 2nd, or possibly 3rd page of the BB forums.

    Different battery results today.
    01/08/11
9:00 pm = Phone fully charged and now on battery
    01/09/11
6:00 pm = Actually more use than yesterday but battery just went from 50%-40%

Appearntly fullying charging the battery, wiping battery stats and fully draining battery then doing full charge does help.
I will see how it goes over the next couple of days.

I had this happen when I enabled screen lock (it happened no matter which type of screen lock I enabled) FC. Had to use backup to be able to get back into location and security.

is anyone else still getting the low flash with camera when battery is low issue? whenever battery is at 40% or so, using the camera in the dark becomes practically useless. either the pic gets cut off or there's not enough flash. of all the roms i've tried, none has ever fixed this issue. is it some kinda hardware limitation or something?

I've never noticed a problem with that. The next time I let my battery get that low I'll check it out though.

Just an update, my battery life is back to normal too... I down graded to 6.1, then updated to 6.2 and all is fine. Been running 6.2 since I last posted... All is good now...
