Rogue Notification Bar????? *sudden annoyance as of yesterday*

Last night I received an SMS, normally My little Handcent icon (i use the blue smiley) will show in the notification area and scroll the msg next to it, however it immediately sounded off AGAIN and showed a new icon that I've never seen before (a white envelope) and said I had an unread message.

I tried clicking the white envelope, nothing....

Upon reading the msg via handcent, that white icon NEVER disappears, if you tap on it, it just closes the notification bar... However, if it shows 2 unread messages, and you read the unread messages with stock text, or handcent, it says "no unread messages"

I have not updated anything for a week, so I updated all programs this morning, no change, i've removed handcent, all customizations (launcherpro, beautiful widgets, etc) Nothing, I've removed all of my accounts, and still no change... Removed Google Talk, Google Voice, Tapatalk, EVERYTHING I could get a message from....

Stilll there and still very annoying.

Anytime I get a NEW SMS this comes up and does not go away. I've also changed conversations.apk to conversations.bak, made sure once again that my stock notifications were all set to off, even turned all notifications off, reboot, handcent only notify's back on, SAME THING...

Short of doing a factory reset, has anyone seen this annoyance?
It is NOT the stock TEXT app
It shows wether handcent is installed or not
turning off all sms notifications does not get rid of it
removing all messaging programs/accounts still shows it
removing launcher pro, beautiful widgets, everything, it still shows.


ROGUE ON TOP, Kinda blurry Icon, Handcent on bottom, Nice and clear! (I changed the Handcent Icon to see if it woudl take it over, but no dice.)

No matter what I do it will NOT disappear!

Disregard... found it after posting... its the beautiful widgets pack2 sms widget rhat was stuck

so how were u able to disable the white notify msg? I went thru my BW widget setting and don't see a setting for msg motifs. is there a way to go into BWpack2 settings?

Little White Annoying Envelope

I decided to post this because I forget how to fix it every couple of months and it takes me 30 mins to figure it out again.

I always get this problem when I re-install all of my beautiful widget packs.

1. Long press home screen and select widgets.
2. Beautiful SMS
3. Uncheck Show Notification
4. Breathe Sigh of relief.
