When you go to assign them you will find them in Android system. Are you sure you're saving sounds you want to use as notifications, as notifications and not ringtones or vice versa?

OK I deleted some songs off my card and phone files. And I had also deleted ringdroid becuz I was gonna download another one. But after people said ringdroid was best , I downloaded it again. But why are the songs I deleted are still showing up in ringdroid. Why ?

Those are probably the ringtones or notification tones you're seeing. That is unless you deleted those too.
