Ridiculously dumb question re:music files?

I can't clear my phone of all of the music on it. I have deleted all of the files I can find but when I open the music players all of the music is still there. What am I missing???

Have you tried a reboot since deleting the music?

I just rebooted to make sure and it is all still there. Is music somewhere on the phone itself in addition to the SD card?

Also, does the music that shows in the music player actually play?

If not, try clearing the cache in the music app in Manage Applications.

I cleared the data/cache and the music is still there and it plays.

Are you using windows?
If so do a file search (of just the sd drive letter) for *.mp3 and delete the ones you need gone.

Thanks!! That solved it. The music was under mobile/music and I hadn't seen that. EDIT...Now all of the titles and artists are still in the music player but without the song. I've cleared the data in the music program but cache is greyed out (under settings). YIKES!
