I've had my Droid since they came out, but i'm new to rooting! I was always hesitant for one reason or another so I just trudged along. I got the 2.1 update and then (which sucks) I made the decision to root. Damn. So, from all the posts I've read, we have to revert back to 2.0.1. I'm also on a mac, which makes things more difficult. So, using my old pc, I downloaded the files that were required, but to no avail. RSD doesn't recognize my phone. I am able to add the sbf no problem to RSD, but when I hit start nothing happens, and nothing is in the right side pane.
I don't know if this matters or not, but I also tried to get into safe mode more than several times and it seems that the phone will not allow it. I'm wondering if something might be wrong with my phone from the get go, or somehow it's just user error.
If anyone could help, that would be great.

Sorry I did not mention that. I believe the issue is Safari. I use Firefox because it downloads the zip and does not auto unzip.

Where are you in the process?

JESSLYMK, Mike is the awesome one here. i do want to interject that i read that you need to make sure that the file is named update.zip. if it's named update.zip.zip you need to correct that.

Make sure that your update.zip file has only one ".zip" extension and that you do not have a previous update.zip in your SD card. Both will cause an error.

Hey MrMan may I ask how you got back to 2.0.1? As Mike mentioned we are trying to figure how Mac users can use rsd lite. So what process did you use to get back to 2.0.1?

oh yeah......Mike you are awsome :rofl3:

It appears you are using RSD is that correct? Additionally, it looks like one of the files is missing.

I've not used RSD so my thoughts may not be accurate. Let me see if I can get another member of RS, who has experience with RSD, to assist you.

jstafford1- i cheated! i have an old pc in the house, so i just downloaded the files over there and installed that way. sorry if i caused any brief excitement, and agree, it would be easier if we could do it all right on the mac.
mike- thank you... but unfortunately i may not be that fast after all! I chose to install the ulitmate droid 9.8.0 nextheme. i may have missed a step. I uploaded the unzipped file into nandroid's root. went back into recovery mode, and tried to restore into the new file which i renamed nextheme. it looked like it tried so hard, but returned me with: nandroid exited with status 25.
i've read so much in so many forums that i'm getting things crossed i think. is there a paid app in the market that we can download that makes switching easier, or do i have to deal with this status 25 (which i have no idea what it is, or how to fix it!)
