Just got it uploaded, sent out links to all that asked.

@cereal killer--I will definately post it up in there once finished, it still needs some work, I asked for some people to try it out to get their opinions on it so far. I'm not going to post up a link just yet...soon hopefully :)

    • SP recovery worked no problem.
    • Ran the zip align script... my phone starting running the script then my phone went black and was unresponsive. All buttons were lit up.
    • Battery pulled, loaded my back up and reflashed the steel beast.
    • Phone booted up a little faster than normal.
    • Played with it a bit and it seems smooth. Like the clean look of everything. :)
I'll update more tomorrow, just wanted to let you know it works with sp recovery.

Did you give it a little bit after running the script? The phone reboots when its finished...Plan on zipaligning it once its finished so it won't be neccisary but just curious

What is the best way you have found to install your edited framework images, root exp., adb, or something else? I am working on a chrome theme right now for my stock root and I have some images ready to install and try and was just wondering what methods others were using to install. Thanks a lot and the metal looks great!!!

I have been using 7zip to open up the rom as archive, drag and drop the images. When you close it out you need to click yes when it asks if you want to update the archive. Then put the zip back on the phone and install it...just what works for me...

I let it sit for ahile and it wouldn't reboot. But I'm not seeing any lag so I'm guessing it took.

Are you using root explorer, push/pull or is this a MM file? I have heard that push/pull while in recovery is the best way to change framework files but I was wondering if someone had found an easier way.....

If you don't see what I am asking I will pm you and explain in detail, just didn't want to take up a lot of space on your thread.... :)

I think I understand, and my answer would be none of the above. I took Pete's bbV1.1 rom, edited the apk's in the zip, then installed as a new rom(like an update.zip). Once I finish the work on this I will make it just a theme, but for now this is a themed rom

I played around with the steelbeast a bit more this morning. It runs clean, I like the brushed metal look on everything. The only thing I noticed other than what you mentioned in your PM was the notification pull down. There are 2 different text lines overlapping each other.

Do you plan to theme any icons or widgets in the future? I think you have a good thing going and hope to see more stuff added. :icon_ banana:

Thanks again for letting me test it out.

I did this to the power control widget while I was uploading the file last night, needs some fine tuning but yes I plan on theming more widgets, along with creating an icon set to match the theme.

What text is overlaping, it seems to be displaying properly on mine, could you send me a screen shot?

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the 9 patch, have eclipse but due to my poor internet connection I haven't been able to get my tools for it. That definatelly explains the weird images I was getting when editing widgets.

Drawpatcher is part of the SDK in the tools directory.

I just looked at it again. Sorry it's the drawer tab overlaying the notification bar. Nevermind.

@thebowers--Ill take a look when I get home and see if I can find it...

@matrice0056--Think I need to darken the bottom of that so you can't see through where its at? I can fade it up back to a transparent

I think that would work. Just something so you can't see both.

I'll add that to my list of to do's.

Any special requests for themed icons/widgets?

Planning on basic icons and search/power control/facebook/pandora widgets...anything else?

    Oh and beautiful widget skin

Here is a screen shot of the new notification background...

I also worked on theming the integrated launchers...I didn't realize the trash pressed stayed under the trash hover, so it needs some more work

Thats's coming along nicely. The notification is looking good. I'd like to see the music widget get themed.
