I keep seeing tutorials on how to overclock the droid to 800 and 600 Mhz. I keep seeing terms I don't understand like flash image and SPrecovery. I was just wondering if someone could point me to a tutorial to the following...

Overclock droid to 600 and 800Mhz
    Install SPrecovery and flash image
    Keep wifi working mabey?

All I have right now is set cpu and and I am rooted.

Any help/would be much appreciated, and when explaining things I'm a complete noob

If you want to get SPRecovery and the overclocking kernels on your phone and are new to all of this, download DroidRootHelper from the market and it will do everything for you. I still suggest doing it without DroidRootHelper eventually because it forces you to learn.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It will have and do everything you need to overclock as long as you are already rooted. I didn't use it to overclock, but the app looks to make things pretty easy.

easiest way to oc ive seen is to download droidroothelperpro from the market. bunch of different oc kernels in there. make sure you have sprecovery and do a backup before hand

Right now, my droid is rooted, I just downloaded droid-root.zip, renamed it to update.zip and then just selected "apply update". I just have basic root, no recovery image or nandroid backup. I want to overclock my droid to 800mhz. I just downloaded the droidrootpro.zip, I have no clue how to install it? Can anyone explain to me how to overclock my droid? Which files do I need?

There is a "bootimg800mhz" folder in the droidrootpro.zip. In the bootimg800mhz folder their is an update.zip. Do I just put that update.zip on my sdcard and boot into recovery and flash? I have SetCPU installed also, but I'm just confused.

Menu button? I downloaded droidrootpro from the internet. It is a 90mb zip file, with tons of folders in it.

    Hit 'mount system read/write'

    Then hit 'install busybox'

    Then hit 'install flash_image'

    Then hit 'flash 99.0b recovery'

    Then hit 'rename recovery-from-boot'

After all that, you hit menu, more, overclocking options, and choose whichever speed you want. I suggest downloading SetCPU from the market. After flashing the new overclocking kernel, open SetCPU and choose 'autodetect' under device selection.

It doesn't do you any good on your computer. Again, you need to download it from the market (from your phone) and install it on your phone.

I think you need DroidRootPro to flash the overclock kernel, but I could be wrong. I was thinking DroidRootHelper lets you get SPRecovery and a few themes, but not the overclocking kernel. Either way, you need to mount mtdblock4. In the Pro version, it just says mount read/write.
