This is a repost of the XDA thread by imnuts found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1094304

I took the ED2 ROM, deodexed and zip aligned it, then debloated it and added in a few useful things. This has most of the stuff removed that came with the Stock ROM, including TWLauncher, which has been replaced with AOSP Launcher. The ROM is rooted and also includes busybox for some useful linux tools. I've also included the Gingerbread keyboard from here as another keyboard alternative. This is not fully tested yet, so there may be a few issues. As people use it, I can add things people would like (such as mods as they become available), or remove stuff people don't want/use.

    Changelog
    0527
    AOSP Lockscreen from nitsuj17
    Added stock Email back
    Removed unneeded apks from v3

    0523
Initial Release - Based on ED2 OTA
    Deodexed
    Zip-aligned
Debloated (removed to much to list, >70MB)
    Rooted - fixed in 0523v2
    Busybox
    Gingerbread Keyboard
    Text Messaging fixed in 0523v3

    Download - 0610 ROM version 4.2.1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?gvsxg9cc6e3jjce

OP Updated. Any issues would be of Samsung's making:) It just has bloat removed. TW Launcher was added back because removing it caused a wakelock issue.

imnuts is working on an updated version of this ROM that will be built off of the new EE4 update and include the Voodoo Lagfix kernel and CWM. He is also working on CWM as well and is pretty close.

You would just need to install CWM (suggest imnuts red CWM for now) format and load via CWM. Imnuts has the Voodoo lagfix installed so you will be rooted.

    Hey Guys,

I got a problem with the market after updating. Basically I cant install anything now, no updates or new apps. I was on OTA E44 so I downgraded to AB ED2 and then flashed EE4 Debloated which worked just fine except nothing in the market works.

So since then I have flashed back to a stock OTA with the same results so after a few more tries / cache clears I am back on the EE4 Debloated but still no market love. What the hell can I do to get it back ?!?

I would try deleting data and cache for the market app in manage applications. If that didn't work I would backup w/ titanium backup and then factory reset and restore apps only w/ tibu and selected data( to keep places in games)

If you have Voodo Lagfix, you have to enable it. If not enabled I could not get teh Market to work.

Really? So I do not believe lagfix was enabled on the rom I was using however I do know that it was installed. I had placed the files in the voodoo directory to force is back to stock instead of ext4.

As for clearing caches I had tried that multiple times, in multiple roms to no avail... So your saying it really made a difference enabling the lagfix for actually getting the market to work though so maybe I will try again (got really frustrated and wasted hours last time).

So here is the main question. I am back on stock EE4 at the moment so does anyone care to write up a quick guide to get me back to a state with CWM that I can write the debloated EE4?

    Thanks!

    1. put rom of choice and kernel of choice on SDcard

    2. Odin CWM from here - [RECOVERY][6-11-11]Clockwork Mod Recovery - xda-developers making sure to uncheck auto-reboot

    3. Boot directly to recovery using the 3-button method Vol up+Home+Power, releasing power when Sammy logo appears

    4. Flash Kernel of choice, Flash rom of choice, Reboot

If the phone boots on the stock kernel, it will overwrite CWM that is why you must boot directly to recovery and flash kernel.

    Good Day.

Thanks for the info. I had been working with the dev over at XDA to get some assitance getting this working and I got it squared away. The biggest issue I was having was not having lagfix enabled. This was causing the market not to work.

    Again thanks for the info.
