Mine got stuck at the "starting apps" screen also. A forced reboot seemed to fix it though. If there's a problem with battery life, etc... I haven't noticed it yet. It might be using more power with the screen on, although I wonder if the new hardware accelerated interface would use more??? It would be using the GPU all the time now.

Flawlessly wonderful ICS. So happy. Give yourself time to get used to the changes and you will love it.

Coming from a Nexus I had missed ICS.. VERY happy to have it back on this wonderful phone
Battery a concern until I did a couple charge cycles. Now battery is even better then before updates. 14 hours and 70 percent left.

This is smoother, faster, and so much more logical now.

    Love the update.

Same for me, jackie... before and after ICS. I go into settings and clear image cache, which fixes it until I close out and go back in again.

I need the ability to have a true desktop browser which was possible with Webtop 2.0. Anyway to regain that?

I installed ICS yesterday but there are a few quarks that i dont like.
    1. The caps doesn't seem to work.
    2. Cant show only contacts with phones.
    3. There are two separate apps for phone and contacts.
    4. When someone calls their name is way up at the top corner in small letters.
    5. When your in the favorites you have to open the contact to call, there isn't a phone button to push.
    6. The keyboard seems to be smaller or more crowded.
Well that's all i can think of right now. I'll add more as i find them. Everything else seems like it works great though.

I can see tha avatars. I would recommend doing a factory reset after the upgrade.

I did one before the upgrade and will probably do it again but the same thing was happening on gb so I don't think it is an ICS problem.

For your number 5 complaint: there are 2 ways to call quickly. If using the favorites widget, just hit the phone number to call directly. If you use the phone app (not the people app) and you click on the favorite's picture it will call them. Hope that makes sense! Not sure if that's what you were looking for.

i DO get what you mean
but, quite frankly, for most of us who "LIKE" the way our phones are already set up..... doing a FACTORY RESET is out of the question
yes, i know, it's no different than starting over with a new phone... but, i don't want to have to do a factory reset just because a new operating system is in place
in fact... there is no reason on earth they should have released ics IF a full factory reset was necessary to get your phone working "properly" again after installing it

So my initial experience with Ice Cream Sandwich.
Starting from the unlock screen, there's a circle with a key in the middle, you have four options to unlock, phone, camera, txt, calling
Home screen you have a new YouTube widget, you scroll threw it now 3D. (go in your apps and click on the top right button that says widget to get all possible widgets for you're home screen) long hold on the background will give you the option to Change the background. Bottom of your screen has five functions instead of four. You can group any apps together, even on the bottom of type screen,i did twitter+ msg+Fb+Skype. Apps are re designed as far as there appearance goes. Google widget looks sleek. You can swip away notifications by Swyping them to the sides. And on the bottom of you're notificationpage it says Vz in blue your battery is now blue and the time, if you have the temp displayed its small!!! XS.
So far i love it !! Still discovering new functions and its amazing.
