Replacement camcorder?

I know that there are a bunch of different camera apps on the market..er google play or whatever it is now, but are there any apps that also replace the camcorder? I am not to fond of the default camcorder on my DX, it lags like hell, so I don't use it very often. So does such app exist?

Try out LGCamera. I think there is a application for the camera as well as the camcorder.
