Replaced Battery now phone is extremely hot

I was able to replace the battery in my droid razr maxx xt1080 but now my phone is extremely hot. Is there anything I can do?

Welcome to the Forum.. Have you done a factory reset?

If an FDR doesn't work, you may have gotten a bad battery. (It happens) Also, I always go with an OEM battery, unless I'm going with a larger capacity mAh. They are only a couple bucks more than a third party replacement.
