anyone know a way to do this? i don't need to be told what my icons on my homescreen are for.
Nope.....can't do it
Although the app BetterCut apparently will allow you to edit what is under the icons but not delete them
There is one home replacement that allows you to do that....DXTop i think it was...could have been Pandahome. Sweeterhome definately does
dammit, i dont want to but bettercut just to edit the text under the icons... this handcent text underneath to icon is driving me nuts though, the "t" gets cut off.
Brock a better one to get is ABCorganizer. It stores the icons you like and changes the name you pick forever so if you get a new "home" or reset your phone or w/e you don't have to redo the whole setup. You can also delete the icon packs after you've set them all how you like. Takes up less room on your SD card
Did not know that
See....you know more than me!!
Panda Home (and presumably the forthcoming Panda Home 2) will do this.
I’ve been looking for something to do this since I first got my HTC Incredible. I use Multicon to put 2 apps in a 1x1 square at opposite corners without labels for most apps, but occasionally wanted an app to be easy to push on the fly so just wanted the one large app icon, but hate the labels underneath. Finally, someone created an app to do this. All you need is the free/lite version of Folder Organizer.
Here is the link:
Longpress home screen. Add > Widget > Folder Organizer Item > Apps > Unclick “Show Text under Icon” at top > Scroll down and select your app > Done.
This results in a nice app icon in 1x1 space with no label underneath and no black spot where the label would be – very nice and clean looking!
FYI - this is using the HTC Sense UI but should work with any home screen.
