Removing Facebook app?

I'm on Jelly Bean, and I'm rooted.

I still can't uninstall the Facebook app.

I don't use it, and I'm tired of its constant requests to update.

Any idea how to get it gone?

You shouldn't uninstall it. You have two options since you are rooted:

1) Go to Manage Apps, go the Facebook app, uninstall updates, then disable. This will remove it from the app drawer and stop it from receiving updates.

2) Use a program like Titanium Back up to freeze the app. Do not recommend uninstalling the app or deleting the app.

I just disabled it and it never asked for anything again. Disable is a beautiful thing!

Is it safe to go through the apps and disable all the ones that I don't use or are there some that should be left alone even though I do not use them? Thanks!

I disabled a lot too! So much stuff on here that will never be used. Now I don't have to deal with the updates popping up either. Glad it helped you out.
