Remove Default Messaging

I've had my Droid for months and love it! But, I am embarrassed to say I can't figure something out that is probably simple.

I want to use Handcent as my default SMS, not the standard messaging software.

Right now, I am getting messages with both.

Sort of inefficient, to say the least.

Appreciate any help on this.

Go into the stock messaging app then go to Settings and uncheck the notifications box

1. click on your default messenger to open it.
2. click your menu button
3. hit settings
4. UNcheck the notifications

Don't uninstall the stock messenger or your MMS will not work!

For some reason, I just drew a blank on how to disable the app.
