Kinda figured that would be the best route. Will this hose my root apps? (Titanium backup, Root Explorer, etc.) Or will they work on 2.1?

The update.zip file you mention, it should be around here somewhere, right? I'll have a look around. Thanks!

All those Apps work on 2.1 but you will need to download and configure them again. The 2.1 update zip is locaed in one of the sticky threads with everything you need to go back to stock 2.0.1 and then root 2.1.

As long as you're rooted now, or at least have SPRecovery 0.99.3b you can just upgrade right now. There is no need to do anything more. Just load the backup on your phone.

    NOT Pete's version?

That's correct, these are based off the 68mb OTA update that was pushed to our phones recently. I was a little skeptical about the version Pete posted. I'm sure it was fine, but I'm paranoid. I was also concerned that I might be getting poor battery life with the original 2.1 OTA. So I went back to stock and accepted the newest OTA, then rooted it. So, the source of these roms is Verizon. The deodexed version is also based off the Verizon OTA and was done by me. Woodyman aslo posted a 2.1 deodexed rom, but it was based off of Pete's 2.1 backup so I felt I should post mine. All I can say, is that you don't need to worry about what you're getting with these.

I'm currently running UD New Era 1.3 ROM which is based off 2.1

I want to try a stock 2.1 with root access.

Could I use the method posted or will this not work with my phone in its current state?

Yep. Just download whichever rom you want out of the two posted and do a nandroid restore.

    Can I do a factory reset/wipe?

You don't state that in your instructions.
I DO want to wipe my phone clean, is that ok to do?

    Thanks

Yeah, I would. I didn't state it because it's not necessary, it's just something we recommend. Since you want to wipe your phone go ahead and do so. That's completely fine to do.

Hold onto yer butts...here we go!

Alrighty then. Downloading the deodexed version. I'll report back when I've done a backup and committed the act.

I thought someone had asked this but I can't find it now, will CLockworkMod recovery work? I have v1.8.1.4.

No you need sprecovery. You can flash it through rom manager. It's at the bottom.

Didn't work. Got this error: "Nandroid exited with status 25"

I unzipped the file into the Nandroid folder, then tried to restore that using SPrecovery.

    Any ideas?
