I'm late to the party but count me in for the next test, if that's cool.

without a doubt....I think SPRecovery is excellent but with RZ's edits this recovery is on another level.

I'm gonna watch this one too. And BTW the correct chmod for flash_image would be 755, AFAIK.

CK I'm beginning to feel like we are kindred spirits. I seem to find you in every late-breaking thing I'm into.... First, Sapphire then Project Elite and now this recovery! lol....

True dat... EXCEPT I noticed my battery was getting unreasonably drained. I blamed the ROM and started testing and ended up on metickmod currently. Very lightweight will be testing PEv4 and sapphire 2.0.0 soon.... can't forget my first loves....

Sorry for the wait guys, I need to sort some more stuff out on the kernel side.

    here is what happens:

recovery boots, battery daemon starts. Currently, system and data need to be mounted for the battery to start charging. The problem is that it runs in a loop, because battd doesn't always work on the first try. so when an update.zip goes to umount system, it cannot since it is constantly being mounted. There is a kernel from droidmod that is somehow able to charge the battery without system and data being mounted. I need to build such a kernel and when that is done, I will release.

Is that the kernel included in the ESE81 SPRecovery SBF? I didn't think so since I don't recall my phone charging in recovery when I was rooted 2.1, but I figured I'd throw that out there in case it was supposed to. :)

haha, no it isn't that simple. the binaries and libraries for charging just happen to work on the DM kernel, I am going to try all the stuff from gingerbread (kernel, bins and libs) and see what happens.

Just curious, is this on the newer version you're trying to work up or is this the case with 0.1.4 and we shouldn't even use that one for rom flashing?

And if it wouldn't take away from your rom section I would DEFINATELY nominate this project for the Droid Labs section for sure!!

unfortunately, my testers never tried to flash an update.zip rom. I did, but I never actually booted into it lol.. so yes, the problem is present in 0.1.4 too

but it works great after the ROM has been flashed :) it also works fine if you do a manual system wipe before installing

I flashed sapphire 2.0.0 yesterday using the latest you gave me and it flashed fine. At first it would say the file could not be found when I'd try to install it, but after renaming it flashed fine.
