The way rzr has this setup it isn't necessary to rename to update.zip. it is like spr on steroids but you can flash from any file on the SD card that has files in .zip format

No sir, you do not need to rename it to update.zip, that is one of the many joys of this recovery. Also, kernels and themes do not need to .img files. A kernel and theme will still a .zip file, which will flash just like the rom (just drag your rom, theme, kernel over to the SD. Make a Backup, Wipe ALL, Click Install, Choose Zip from SD, and find your ROM, Theme, or Kernel.)

Nope, no renaming necessary, and the file can be anywhere on your SD as well.

Biggest attraction for RZR is overclocking of recovery, flashes run quicker :)

RZR, excellent work, I love it, I keep checking the first page to see if a new version is coming out, though I don't see what else could be done hehe.

flash the zip like a rom, then flash the zip again from within RZR. its really easy to navigate RZR and figure out what does what.

Ok that's the main thing I wanted to know. If I could just flash it like a standard zip. So you said flash it through my CWM and the flash the same zip through RZR?

correct, many people report that CWM doesn't flash correctly so it is best to let it flash itself. I wouldn't know since I have never used CWM

I think the issue may be related to a corrupt (bad blocks) mtd partition.

    This saved my phone!

This recovery saved my phone and my sanity. Since half my nandroid backups had errors or MD5 issues and I couldn't save them (damn you ROM Manager)

Also, to the developer, thank you for including a Clockworkmod nandroid restore...that saved my original ROM and others from death!

Still don't understand what he means by "must have SBF"...but so far it's been working beautifully.

    Thanks
