Recovery Question

    :huh:There has been a lot of talk today about 2.1 launching soon. if i go to my sd card under recovery i have 0.99.3.img..... will the update be stopped or will it automatically download? if it downloads automatically what happens to phone? will i have a real expensive paper weight?

    You know that when you get an update on the phone you can choose to decline it!!! It doesn't install automatically!

    It's not a function of what's sitting on your card, but what's sitting in memory on your phone.

    If you've rooted and used SPRecovery, then updates are blocked.

    I believe the OTA is stopped by changing /system/etc/security/otacert.zip to otacerts.zip or anything other than otacert.zip. That's been part of the ROMs I've installed. I don't know whether they all include that change, but I think it's a safe bet.
