I'm trying to flash my first ROM, GummyJAR.

If I try a standalone reboot, I can get to the recovery screen just fine. But if I use ClockWork Recovery and try to get it to install the ROM I've downloaded, it says "push ok to reboot into recovery mode" so that it can install. Pressing OK then just does a normal reboot.

Then I tried that process again. I tried holding the x button, and it gets to the android picture with the triangle and the "!" and the progress bar loads about a quarter of the way and then the phone reboots itself right then.

    What am I missing here?

Alright, after re checking, I found the installation failed from "failed to verify whole-file signature" error, which aborts the installation.
    Why does that happen?

Ah well... figured it out on my own. Bootstrap didn't finish downloading, and I thought it had. Once that was in place, I got stuck in a bootloop, but wiping data fixed that.

GummyJAR 2.5 is now running happily. :D

Yeah I found there was only a split second window for me to hit the search button before it would go into normal boot. That should be ok now with the CWM recovery finally in place. :)
