Using a couple different posts from these forums I succesfully rooted my droid. I was also able to get Bugless Beast to run after a couple attempts. Now when I try to recover my Data from a Nandroid backup it gets caught in the droid loop after reboot. I have tried a couple different ways of recovering, after installing update.zip, i install the data backup, or install the update.zip reboot, then recover data. these end in the same result. I am wondering if some of the apps i have are causing a conflict somewhere. Also could I get a link to where I can UNroot my phone so I can start the whole process over if needed.
    Thanks:icon_ banana:

:found DMUpdater in a thread. trying that. If its wonky will use it to unroot.

I'm going to make some assumptions, correct me if I make any of them wrong:

    1) You were running stock 2.0.1
    2). You rooted
    3). You installed SPRecovery
4). You installed a NEWish version of Bugless Beast (based on 2.1)
5). You're now trying to restore data from the nandroid backup of 2.0.1 into 2.1, and it's causing major problems.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no way to restore data from 2.0.1 into 2.1. So many things have changed, you are really better off just wiping and starting over. Your contacts should be backed up on Google servers, email can all be re-synced. Sent/Received Text messages are gone for good, and so are the apps (but you can always just reinstall apps if you remember what you had).

Thank you for the response. So far so good with DroidMod. was a fairly seemless install. Now its playing with it and seeing how it works.
    Thanks again:)

DroidMod is 2.0.1 based so restoring data will work for that.
