Put a claim w/ assurion and got a new (yes new!) nexus. Previous phone had cracked screen. Everything came over except the pictures. Any idea how to recover this?
I ran the backup before I activated the new phone.

Pictures - as in camera pictures that would've been saved on the phone's storage from the camera?

Sync it with my gmail. It says google photos. I assumed that was it.

If you used Google Plus, it could've automatically uploaded it to Picasa under "instant upload" I believe.

I don't have Google +. Do anyone know how I can get my pics? I still have the old phone with the pics, but not connected.

Use your gmail credentials and log in to Picasa.

Well if you still have the old phone with the pics, you should be able to plug it in and it will pull up the directories on your storage.
