I really have to figure out a way to do this, I have a business and cant have customers waiting 5-6-7 rings before it picks up. Verizon changed their phones so its not a user adjustable setting any more. I might switch for this reason alone when my contract is up even though I am happy otherwise. Its really out of place to have to wait so long for a caller to leave a message. Any suggestions?

35 seconds they have to wait before being able to leave a message, maybe its Verizon's way of using less bandwidth, more hangups.

If your rooted, most custom roms have the ring delay set so that your phone starts ringing quicker. Or if your running stock rooted you can get Root Tools from the Market and use that to set the delay.

delay until it starts ringing or delay until it stops ringing and goes to the outgoing message? The app description says "reduce call ring delay to save battery", is that just the time before it starts ringing?

I'm 100% sure they can adjust this if you call, as I have done it.

There are dial in numbers to do it for you as well, but this varies based on your location. So its easier to just instruct someone to call.

I've called, a couple of times although not recently, and you cant change it, they wont change it for you and they wont let you change it yourself. Yes, you used to be able to, on T-Mobile there was a really complicated number entry to do it. And I just spoke with tech support again and adjusting the number of rings "is no longer supported in any market" which is the answer I've had for a while. No wonder people go with Mac/Apple, because they're not complete idiots.
