Tried out my Senn HD 580 with the bionic. These are audiophile quality headphones and not real easy to drive. Plenty of output and sound quality is very clear and spacious. Using free cloudskipper player from the market. Also good with phonak pfe in-ear phones. The bionic sounds better than most standalone music players. I did this just for the heck of it, never expected it to be good

A lot of people have complained about the audio on the bionic. I had audio issues at first and discovered that my hdmi port had really bad audio and got a replacement and have had zero problems since. I did discover that the shifter ROM has some audio issues, seems the sound is over driven, liberty was ok, but the purity Rom is the closest in sound to stock. I think that purity, shifter are based on the same development but something is different in them on the audio side. I love the bionic and have no plans on changing phones.

    " But, WHY THE RUM?!!"
