Last week I had to send my phone in for some repair work under my phone's insurance (the power button popped out, it sucked). Being paranoid, I put my Droid back to stock recovery, stock ROM and formatted my SD card. But BEFORE I did all that, I did do a full Nandroid backup in SPRecovery and a TiBU of all my installed apps just in case, then transferred all the data off of the SD card onto my computer.

Since I got my phone back, I get a message saying I need to activate my phone (from loading the stock factory ROM obviously). My main concern is this issue with activation. Do I really need to activate it again? Can I just install a different recovery on my Droid again and load the Nandroid restore to ROM I previously had installed? Do I need to install the same ROM version again then do the Nandroid restore?

Well, that's about it. I just want to get things back to the way they were before. Thanks in advance.

*Sorry if my post doesn't make much sense. This is a repost in a way as the page reloaded on me when I was typing the original.*grumblegrumble* I sometimes have bad short term memory.

You shroud be fine reactivating your phone. I believe dialing *228 does that. Reflashing your old rom will get you your old rom back but you still are going to need to activate your phone.

Yes, the activation is just the Verizon part of the process. It has nothing to do with the ROMs or anything else.
I've done mine multiple time back before we had logo only sbf files for boot logos. The whole sbf required re-activating.

No activation fees. I would owe about 10 grand if they did charge everytime I flashed a new rom

To be or not to be........................wait what was the question? This signature has been Tapatalk approved.
