I have a stock ROM for the Droid 1 that when flashed, it will unroot you and make you completely stock. I flashed it forgetting it unroots my phone, I just wanted the stock ROM. Is it possible to restore a backup from another ROM while stock?

My sense is no. Once you lose root you need to reroot but give it a shot and let us know.

I guess the quick way would be superoneclick, rom manager, flash sprecovery (or cwmr) and then load another previously rooted nandroid.

And if you want a basically stock rooted ROM try MetiCkOne's section.

I might give both a try. Apparently Z4 doesn't work with the newest D1 update so is SuperOneClick still compatible? And yeah, I've used his before. My issue is that my phone, which is a replacement, is very picky when it comes to ROMS. MIUI works well but it was driving me crazy with a small problem.

I'm a little scared to try to restore a rooted backup haha
