    what kernel are you running?

is it rebooting at the motorola M or at teh SS splash screen?

    do you have compcache enabled?

did you wipe during install? or flashed over previous ROM. if so you should try wiping and re-flashing

compcache can be enabled in the chevytools/options/compcache

make sure you have a kernal that supports compcache

what are you doing on your phone when you experience the reboots?

when I get them Im usually multi-tasking like texting & surfing the web...so when reboots happen to me, its under low memory conditions

**although, i got one today when i just picked up my phone and turned on the screen...and nothing else was running that i started**

I was going to suggest trying a lower voltage kernal or maybe a medV but you're ahead of me

Yep, I can confirm that this does happen. Yesterday my phone wouldn't receive a text message, then wouldn't allow me to answer a call, then went black. Not even holding down the power button would let me restart it. I had to do a battery pull.

I am looking into this - I definitely suspect it's due to low memory ... without a logcat it's EXTREMELY had to tell though

And as suggested - have you been running a logcat? If you can do it through a DOS window - it will stop RIGHT when it crashes ...

The best way to use it is from Windows, in a DOS window, using adb - if you use if from within terminal, as SOON as it encounters an error everything disappears and you will have no clue what happened - but from Windows - you can stop the logcat immediately and see what is happening ...

Ok. How do you do that on a phone running android?

    Pardon my ignorance.

    rebooting

it happens to me as well at least once (often more) a day. i am using a memory program though to keep my ram free and chevys 1100 med v kernal. always do a cache wipe before install. this typcally happens after i get off the phone or after sending a SMS via handcent. i installed 5.0.0 the day it was released and have been experiencing it since. i probably wont do anything about it, just try a different rom. i can confirm this occurs.

i can confirm it also stays off when you hit power button to turn the lockscreen on, as well as several random reboots, cant remember what kernel i was using at the time, think the default one. couldnt stand that issue though so i had to switch :( was really nice up to that point tho :p and i wasnt listening to music no, just pulled phone out of pocket and saw the lovely M bootup screen and said oh yay to myself.. :(

My phone has recently started random reboots as well. When I first installed SS5.0 it was great. Then I was having problems with music playback getting all static sounding and just overall glitchyness so I installed the mv 1.0hz kernal and that seemed to solve my problems. Now random reboots are back, two weeks later, and sometimes when it comes to music playbach (using b tunes or stock player) it appears to clearly be playing the song but no sound whatsoever.

Still a HUGE fan of SS5.0 though!! Just wish there was an easier way to get the bugs worked out. Maybe the OG Droid just can't handle GB....
