So I attempted to root my droid to install the wifi tethering custom rom, but I gave up half way through the process because I got stuck on a step. Anyway, I ended up successfully rooting my phone and installing droid-root-helper.apk. This is where the problem occurred. Basically I got to the step in the droid-root-helper that backs up my restore image to something .old, and replaces it with a custom image. I want to basically factory restore my droid to the default UNROOTED, unmodified image, but when I choose factory restore, I am applying the custom rom (I know this because after restore, there is a superuser app). What do I need to do to restore my original image and start from scratch? Many thanks! This forum is incredibly useful!
