Ok, this is driving me nuts...

How do you permanently delete an email in Gmail?

I can "delete" to the trash folder but, I can't find a "permanently delete" option in the trash.

Thanks.

I have never found a way, I always log in online once a month and empty the trash.

I think messages in both the trash and spam folder get deleted automatically after 30 days by default in Gmail

you can delete the trash/spam emails by logging into Gmail from your computer and permantly delete them there and then using your Gmail app it will sync and also show empty spam/trash folders when accessed from your phone

Thank you, all. I thought I was missing a setting or something. Wonder why Google changed that from GB.
