I have a rooted Droid. How do I delete some of the default apps that usually say they can't be deleted?

Also, I'm interested in having none-app multi touch and not just with the Dolphin browser either. Is there a way to turn this on or does that come the rom?

Yes, I'm talking about the verizon apps such as Amazon Mp3, Calendar, Email etc...

I skimmed though that link earlier but didn't look in depth. Will refer back to it.

    Thanks.

    Disable default Verizon crap
    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    cd /system/app
    mv Email.apk Email.bak
    mv VVMStub.apk VVMStub.bak
    mv com.amazon.mp3.apk com.amazon.mp3.bak
    mv CorpCal.apk CorpCal.bak
    mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    sync
    reboot

I personally wouldn't remove the Corp Calendar, cuz I use it with my work e-mail. Also, this doesn't remove them, it just renames them so if you need them back, just rename them back. If you want to completely remove them (not recommended) then replace the mv with rm

I just used Root Explorer in R/W mode to rename the apps I didn't want displayed with a .bak extension. Same effect as the terminal solution, just faster (for a newbie like me, that is)

Ok, wow my headache just went away with that recommendation. It's a done deal for me now. They are gone.

    Thanks a lot!
