So i'm prolly just confused or ignorant, but on my droid under the settings it says my droid is running firmware version 2.0.1. I thought that was the update with 5 screens and all that jazz, am i mistaken? or would the update be like 2.1.0.

    thanks

    Woefully ignorant droid user kwood

2.1 contains the new launcher on the N1.

The update may or may not contain it for the Droid.

You can search for the 2.1 launcher app and install using a file manager such as astro.

If you want the 5 screens you can get the 2.1 launcher file here:

install launcher.apk from android 2.1 onto 2.0.1 | droid life: a motorola droid blog

There are instructions on that page as to how to download and install it.

Some people reported problems with it but it worked fine for me. Only time I had a problem with it was if I tried to update the twitdroid widget with the physical keyboard. Pulling out the physical keyboard from the home screen caused some issue that would give me force closes. As long as I used the on screen keyboards when typing from the home screen it worked fine for me.
