I was wondering if Aim and Facebook running on my Droid affects the battery?

If they're working properly, they shouldnt.

Check for yourself: Settings < Battery Manager

I would think it's a matter of how often you have it check for updates.

What he said!

Sent from my DROID2 using DroidForums App

Yeah, if you have them polling for updates frequently, it can kill your battery pretty quickly. A few of the instant messaging apps I've tried (Trillian & eBuddy) have an option to reduce the time between polling when you aren't actively using it to help conserve battery life.
When I didn't have that option set, it would put a decent drain on it, and if I was in a low-service area like my desk at work, forget about it... It could drain even 50% of an extended battery in 8 hours.

This may be a stupid question but how do you check to see how much time between updates you get..

Instant messaging right?
It's constantly running I assume. Probably can't do anything about that other than exit or keep it plugged in.

Can I unlock my Droid??????

I want to stick a different sim card in my Droid Global. Can I do this without Verizon giving me a passcode to unlock? They will not give it to me until I have 60 days with phone! Help!!!!!! Thanks!

I mean Im checking the battery status.. and it says 2% was used by aim so Im assuming that it depends on how many messages you get..or something like that..
