I was just wondering if there was any way to have the moto droid emit a wifi signal so i can connect things into the net via wifi like...um..i dont know...my DSI..xD just through id ask

Those others don't allow other devices to connect like I think the OP wants. The only one I know of is WIFI Tether.

No you have to root (android version of jailbreak) you phone to get it.

I can use pdanet to Wifi connect other devices without rooting the phone?

No, PDAnet and Tether both require a usb connection to get internet out of it. If you want your Droid to be a Wifi hot spot then you need to root, install a kernel/ROM that allows tethering, and install the Wifi Tether app.
