Let's say I root my Droid, and tether it. Is it possible to connect it to a computer via USB and have the computer recognize it as a network connection, so I can use it to surf the net? This computer doesn't have wifi. It's at work, and if this will work, it will be perfect.

Check out either PdaNet or Easy Tether Lite, both are free apps from the market. Also, root access isn't even required!

You dont need to root to do this, PDANet and EasyTether will give you this result. Hitch is, you need to be able to install their software on the PC, which you may not be able to do at work.

Maybe you should ask your boss for an internet connection? I cant imagine a situation where a computer is useful for business without an internet connection.

Some companies don't like their employees installing things on the work computers. Other companies restrict internet access for specific reasons.

There are many reasons to be wary of doing this on a work computer. Make sure you won't get in trouble beforehand by talking to your manager/IT department.

Ahh, lol. My "work" consists of me and 2 teenage girls in a store in the mall. It's hardly a "work" at all. I basically get paid minimum wage to sit around and ring up a customer every now and then. I'm by myself around 4 hours a day, so this will be perfect for those times. ;) Thanks, guys.
