Question about Tethering.

i go to our cabin every other weekend where we have no tv or internet but perfect cell reception. i have never used tethering app before but am concidering using it. i have unlimited data usage. would it be worth the hassle to "hack" my droid x to tether to my laptop or possibly even xbox? i guess what im asking is how do i get tethering free, will it work on xbox live, and will it cost me extra on data even know i have unlimited? thanks, hope for replies!

Download PdaNet off the internet. It used to be on the Market, but Verizon made them take it off. Wonderful, easy app works great. Or you can use your phone as a WiFi hotspot. I'm a photojournalist and sometimes transmit photos from the field from my laptop. Also worked great when Hurricane Ike knocked out our power.

I am in a very similar situation. My phone is not rooted, I am on an unlimited plan, I use Easy Tether and its a great app

thanks guys! it helped. aha. have you ever used an xbox with it? i dont have mine at the moment.
