I'm new to the droid, not new to linux. Is it possible to undo what's been done by rooting your phone?

lets say for instance you have an issue with the phone and need a replacement phone issued and have to send yours back. Is there a way to return it to factory like condition???

buci1er, please use the search function on the forum. There's already a post about this.

    Thanks.

To take a dead thread and resurrect it for the purposes of a hijack, is there even a point in worrying about this? Granted, its doable so its moot, but I don't really envision Verizon/Motorola combing through returned Droids and trying "su" in terminal or looking through the files . . . .

Maybe I'm just seeing the world through my Best Buy return goggles where they will take a box full of bricks labeled Xbox 360 and give you full credit.

funny you say that because i was at best buy the other day and watched the customer service rep go through a TV box like a madman to make sure nothing was missing...

haha, yes, i have returned an iMac to Best Buy, and they went over the thing with a fine-tooth comb. and checked and rechecked every serial to make sure they matched.

Back on topic... Just manually apply the official 2.0.1 update.zip like you did the root and it will revert it back.

even if you've rooted a 2.0.1 system and you apply the 2.0.1 update it will revert back to normal?
