Question about gps apps - UTM vs long lat?

Does anyone have an app that converts to UTM and also gives some control over the datum we use? (1927 vs 1984) Also will this work with no verizon reception? Sometimes I am in remote areas.

That is a good question. I suppose we could test this by putting the Droid in airplane mode (cell radio off) and then trying the GPS?

Edit: seems to work. Airplane mode turns off the verizon signal. I'm sitting at 7+- yard accuracy according to c:geo, GPS status is reporting 6 meter accuracy.

Can't help with the conversion question at the moment. No clue?

This site will do it, my Magellan Triton gps does it, but if you have no net coverage, doing it automatically would be nice on Droid.

You can configure the GPS Status app to provide UTM coord.

between long, lat degree, min , sec and decimal

Not an expert on the various datums. Best bet is to download the app and see if it does what you want...

the gps status program does not allow selection. The conversion program also apparently doesn't work in the western hemisphere. A glitch..
