Ok, ill get it out right off that im very new to this. im using a rooted motorola droid with android 2.1. ive found a few threads to install custom boot animations but cannot get them to work. all i get is a black screen until the phone loads up. its not telling me im making invalid commands just not doing something right. im using the terminal emulator on my phone and this is what im putting in.

    export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
    sh-3.2$ export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
    sh-3.2$ su
su: access granted, courtesy of www.magicandroidapps.com
    sh-3.2# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock6 /data
    sh-3.2# busybox cp /sdcard/bootanimation_droidmatrix.zip /data/local
    sh-3.2#

maybe someone here can tell me what im doing wrong to get it to work. the boot animation is saved to my sd card btw.

You need to either rename "bootanimation_droidmatrix.zip" to "bootanimation.zip" first or rename during copy like so:
    "busybox cp /sdcard/bootanimation_droidmatrix.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip"

Yes, the system looks for "bootanimation.zip" exactly. You cannot rename this file. Also, make sure the Zip file is compressed as store and not normal.
