Question about cm9 or aokp

I am curious about getting custom ROMS on the Droid razr. I found a theme called cobalt into the market and I really want to know how to get that on my phone. I have root access but have never flashed a ROM. Could someone point me (a noob) in the direction of some instructions to get this done safely? Or at least as safely as possible. I want to be able to restore if it doesn't work well also. Thanks very much for the help. I will be more than happy to provide additional info if necessary.

Matts utility 1.6 is easy to root your phone... Then you can either install bootstrap or safestrap to get into recovery/ clockwork mod. I installed bootstrap just because I was familiar with it on the DX. When you are in clockwork first thing you should do is make a backup of your stock rooted ROM (actually make it a priority to backup you're stock ROM) you can then proceed to installing a ROM.
