Qualcomm Unleashes New Snapdragon 801 and Two 64-Bit Processors with Included LTE

    Qualcomm is pretty much the undisputed king of the mobile chipset world. They keep cranking out amazing new technology for our smartphones and tablets at such a breakneck pace, it is tough for even monster competitors like Intel and NVIDIA to keep up with them. Today's Qualcomm announcement at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain simply reinforces that dominance.

    Qualcomm took the wraps off of their new Snapdragon 801 32-bit processor. It is similar to its predecessor and contains a quad-core Krait 400 processor. It also contains the same GPU. The primary difference is that it can be clocked slightly faster (at 2.45GHz) than it's older brother, the Snapdragon 800. It also supports a faster maximum GPU frequency.

    Qualcomm also offered up their two new 64-bit processors. One is a quad-core and the other is an octa-core. Both models include integrated LTE capabilities and will include improved GPU horsepower. Here's the full press release with more details below,
