Purchasing certain Samsung devices might earn you a free year of Netflix

Planning on buying a new Samsung phone for the new year? You might want to hold off for a few more days.

According to a report published by Android Central, Samsung is starting a new promotion this Sunday. Those buying the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or the Samsung Tab S tablets (8.4 or 10.5) will receive a credit for a free year of Netflix.

The promo will be available from January 4 through January 17 and will be limited to the first 115,000 people that register at http://samsungpromotions.com/netflix

Even if you have an existing Netflix account, you can still use the free year of service. So if you have your heart set on purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or one of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets, now is the time to follow through.

Samsung is always tossing in nice extras with their devices. I have several years of Evernote Premium and Runkeeper Premium, along with other premium serivces, that I use often. I've also enjoyed over $50 in Play Store credit from Samsung devices.

While it certainly would be nice to get the Netflix deal, I'm not the least bit upset about missing out on it with my launch Note 4. I'd much rather have the $200 rebate from Samsung that's on its way to me right now.

Congrats on your Note 4 @dlwhtrose! Did you trade in or sell your S5? I know you had a few problems with it in the beginning, so I was just wondering.

I'm signed up to receive an email when it's back in stock, but I still check almost every day.

If it's not in stock soon, I'm just going to have to buy it elsewhere.

Agreed. I kinda like the case they have too, but don't think I'll buy it either if I can't use the discount on both.
