So does getting this phone directly from Google mean I won't have to wait for Verizon to decide when I get updates?
Verizon has no input on this phone. Google will update when it wants.

Okay. Not what I was assuming when you said hacker. So this multi-tool is exactly what WugFresh has had for years, but it's new so people like it?

Well give it time there will be updates and roms and a whole bunch of stuff in a month.
I'm staying with Wugfresh's toolkit. I'm sure he will update it. It's so easy to use.

Thanks guys. I have the Note 5 now, but the buzz around this phone caught my attention. I've had zero interest in Nexus phones until now simply because the cameras were awful, but supposedly this one is much better. Hopefully this doesn't feel like a huge step backwards coming from a Note 5.

Once you get going with out all the carrier and manufacturer bloat (TouchWiz) It's hard to go back. I assume I've never gone back.
