Basically, if I ever want to make another one, it will (should) be better than this one. But I'll have to go buy the proper pieces and I can't afford that.

Are you planning on college? Consider engineering :)

I am not the droid you're looking for

Haha, yeah. Eventually. There are several things I could go into, actually. I could do IT, Computer Science, Vehicle Mechanics, Engineering, I could be an artist, etc. I have a very big imagination. All of those I have SOMETHING in, but idk which one I would want to make a living doing.

OK, last post before I head off to work.
Take it for what it's worth...imagination you apparently do not lack in.
You had available-only materials, you had limited machining capability, you had a set budget (0$), AND you had problem that needed solving
Your solution (I repeat myself) was elegant, simple, and functional. Furthermore, you stated that you are already looking at how to improve your "beta".
Smells like engineer to me. :)

Edit: my avatar is the UT tower.....HOOK'EM!

Haha. Thank you. Funny thing is that my girlfriend is going to college majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

Got a new project, though. Making a laptop cooling pad. Coming together nicely.
