Seems like they are on to something. I mean, it's worth a try imo, no contract, and they are offering the 5x for 199 until 4.7.16. If anything, try it, if it doesn't work for you, you pay the phone off and walk away with an awesome phone at a discounted price.

What's all the talk about cutting Sim cards about?

Where do you see this? Most Sims get cut down to nano, the new standard.

You'll only need to cut the sim card down if your current phone has a micro (or larger) sim card and your new phone needs a nano. If they both take the same size, you're good to go.

For example, my Note 4 took a micro sim card, but my Nexus 6P needed a nano. I found a template online and cut it down myself. I ended up having issues with it later, but I don't think they were related to cutting it down, as it worked just fine for quite a while after I did so.

Alternatively, your carrier may be willing to supply you with the correct sized sim card for your new device for little or no cost.
